Polypropylene (PP) monofilament

Polypropylene suture is a synthetic, monofilament sterile non-absorbable suture material. Polypropylene has very high tensile strength and flexibility. It causes only minimal tissue reactivity. Its pliability and smooth surface allow for less tissue trauma. Polypropylene suture material is supplied with atraumatic needles and in the form of ligatures.

Specifications:

In vivo tensile strength retention: Practically all tensile strength is retained.

Packaging: Polypropylene is supplied in a sterile airtight package with a needle.

Sterilization method: Polypropylene is sterilized with ethylene oxide.

Application: Polypropylene suture is suitable for use in cardiovascular surgery due to its anti-thrombogenic properties. It is widely used for suturing and ligating soft tissues, including in neurosurgical, ophthalmological, and dental procedures.
