Polyglycolide Rapid (PGA Rapid) braided

PGA-Rapid is a synthetic sterile absorbable suture material that resorbs quickly, with a short resorption time, composed of polyglycolic acid polymer with a coating. PGA Rapid is non-pyrogenic and induces minimal tissue reaction. It is widely used for closing skin and mucous membrane wounds when rapid resorption of the suture material is desired.

Surgical sutures PGA Rapid are supplied with atraumatic needles and also as separate ligatures of various lengths without needles.

Characteristics:

  • Sizes: USP 6/0 – USP 1;
  • Shelf life: 5 years;
  • Colors: white, violet;
  • Coating: PGA Rapid coated with polycaprolactone and calcium stearate;
  • Tissue reaction: minimal;
  • Resorption rate and tensile strength retention in vivo: After 7 days, PGA Rapid suture material retains over 50% of its initial tensile strength. Hydrolytic resorption is completed in approximately 40 days;

Packaging: PGA Rapid suture material is supplied in a sterile, hermetically sealed package with or without a needle;

Sterilization method: PGA Rapid suture material is sterilized with ethylene oxide.

Applications: PGA Rapid suture material is used for closing skin and mucous membrane wounds when rapid resorption of the suture material is desired. It is intended for suturing soft tissues and/or ligature application, including use in general, plastic, and cosmetic surgery, urology, gynecology, and dentistry.
