Polyglycapron (PGK) monofilament

Polyglycaprone suture is a synthetic, sterile, absorbable suture material. Polyglycaprone is non-pyrogenic and causes minimal tissue reaction. The material has extremely high pliability and a smooth surface.

Specifications:

  • Sizes: USP 6/0 – USP 2/0;
  • Shelf life: 5 years;
  • Color: yellow;
  • Composition: copolymer of glycolic acid and ε-caprolactone;
  • Tissue reaction: minimal;

Absorption rate and in vivo tensile strength retention: The absorption of the suture occurs through hydrolysis. Residual tensile strength at 7 days is 60-70%, and at 14 days is 30-40%. Complete absorption occurs within 90-120 days.

Packaging: Polyglycaprone is supplied in a sterile airtight package with a needle or in the form of a ligature.

Sterilization method: Polyglycaprone is sterilized with ethylene oxide.

Application: Polyglycaprone suture material is used in plastic surgery, general surgery, obstetrics/gynecology, orthopedics, urology, and dentistry.
