Kapron (KA) twisted

Twisted Nylon suture material is a synthetic, twisted, non-absorbable suture material. Twisted Nylon comes in sterile or non-sterile form on spools. Surgical threads made of twisted nylon are supplied with atraumatic needles, as well as separate ligatures of various lengths without needles.

Characteristics:

  • Sizes: USP 4/0 – USP 5;
  • Shelf Life: 5 years;
  • Color: white;
  • Composition: Polyamide (Nylon);
  • Tissue reaction: minimal;

Retention of strength on rupture in vivo: Due to progressive hydrolysis of polyamide in the living organism, there may be a gradual decrease in strength on rupture. The loss of strength is over 15% per year. Metabolites of polyamide are gradually excreted from the body;

Packaging: Twisted Nylon suture material is supplied in a sterile or non-sterile hermetic package with or without a needle, in the form of a ligature;

Sterilization method: Twisted Nylon suture material is sterilized with ethylene oxide;

Application: Twisted Nylon suture is widely used for suturing and ligating soft tissues.
