Catgut polished (simple) pseudomonofilament

The suture material Catgut, either plain or chromic, is a sterile absorbable suture material. Catgut is made from purified collagen derived from the submucosa of the small intestine of cattle. It is intended for suturing soft tissues and/or ligating blood vessels. Catgut surgical threads are supplied with atraumatic needles, as well as separate ligatures of various lengths without needles.

Absorption rate and retention of strength on rupture in vivo: After 8 days, Catgut suture material retains over 50% of its initial strength. Enzymatic absorption is completed within 30 days or more;

Packaging: Catgut suture material is supplied in an alcohol solution, in a double sterile package with or without a needle;

Sterilization method: Catgut is sterilized by radiation;

Field of application: Catgut surgical threads are used for approximation and/or ligation of soft tissues, including surgical, urological, gynecological, and traumatological procedures.
